Once Upon A Potty

As you can see, Evelyn is very excited by this turn of events.

We have a big girl in our house! Charlotte, all on her own, decided she wanted to wear underwear. She's been dry all day long and peed and even pooped in her potty!!! She says, "I don't want to sit in my own pee or poop." She learned this phrase from Maddie and Bennett. Hey, it worked!

Cousins

Charlotte was jumping on her bed today and said, "I fell on my butt." We usually say "bottom" so I said, "can you say bottom instead?" Charlotte said, "No, butt! My cousins say butt." She has recently spent a lot of time with cousins Bennett and Maddie who are 7 and 12. I had to call Julie and tell her thanks for letting her kids corrupt my kids!

I have the BEST husband ever...

Last night was our monthly date night. It was Monte's turn to plan the date. Guess what we did? Shopping at Nordstrom and a yummy seafood dinner. We ate way too much though, I am still feeling full this morning! Oh, the aforementioned best husband ever also went out and picked up Starbucks for me this morning. Did I mention he is the BEST?

Zoo Day

We spent the morning at the penguin groundbreaking ceremony at Woodland park zoo. The girls enjoyed doing some coloring and digging in the dirt with shovels. The best part? Cupcakes!! They had no interest in seeing the animals. Maybe next time!

Independence Day Fun

We spent the 4th in Portland at a BBQ hosted by our good friends, the Ferrantes. They have an annual get together on the 4th and we usually aren't able to make it, this year it fell on a Friday, so yay! We got to spend the day with our Portland friends!

Charlotte just HAD to put on this purple tutu. She looked everywhere for it and when I asked her why she needed it she answered, "I need to wear it to the ball tonight." Oh, the ball? Why didn't you say so in the first place?

Meeting the BBC Girls IRL

We got together with some friends from our Babycenter internet birth club on Friday night. It was really cool to meet these girls in person after knowing them since pregnancy back in 05. Here are the Mommies: Back row: Michelle and Shannon, Front: Me, Kim, Liz. Great to meet you girls, hopefully we'll see each other again very soon!
